Scaling and Polishing
Keep your teeth free from tartar, plaque and bacteria! If left untreated, accumulation of plaque and tartar may cause dental and gum problems such as gingivitis.
Scaling is a process where hard tartar (calculus), plaque and bacteria is removed from your teeth. After the scaling process, polishing is done to remove stains on your teeth, which may have been caused by coffee or tea. This can be done by various methods including using a prophylaxis paste or using a ProphyJet for more stubborn stains.
Since regular brushing of teeth is unable to completely removal substances like tartar, plaque and bacteria from below your gum line, we recommend having scaling and polishing done every 6 months depending on the patient’s oral health condition.
Tooth Extractions
Teeth may need to be extracted or removed due to several reasons including severe tooth decay.
Tooth extractions are performed under local anesthesia, which is delivered by injection and/or a topical gel. After the extraction, medication will be prescribed to manage any pain or swelling caused.
In more complex cases involving teeth that are not easily accessed, a surgical extraction of teeth may be necessary. Your doctor may suggest this in the case of impacted teeth or broken teeth.
Tooth Coloured Restorations (Fillings)
To replace missing parts of a tooth, a dental filling or restoration is performed. At Glee! Dental Surgery, we use mercury-free high strength Tooth Coloured fillings.
The Tooth Coloured filling material comes in different shades to accurately match the colour of your teeth for a seamless restoration.
Radiography
We have Panorama, CEPH and 3D CT scans available in-clinic, providing high quality X-rays required for certain treatments. With the latest technology, a 3 Dimensional scan can be taken to provide a more accurate radiographical assessment.
